After defeating Ironbound 4-3 in penalty kicks, Vistula advanced to the final of the NJSA State Cup. The match was very even, with both teams creating several scoring opportunities throughout. The game remained scoreless until after the break.. Ironbound came out strong in the second half and scored two goals to take the lead. Vistula halved the deficit after a handball by Ironbound resulting in a penalty kick. Hubert Dul converted from the spot to make it 2-1 with 15 minutes left. Wisła created several opportunities to tie the game, including hitting the crossbar and also a controversial offside disallowing a goal. With less than 6 minutes remaining, Chris Karcz was brought down from behind just outside the penalty area while chasing down a long ball from Chris Kondratowicz. Vistula were rewarded a free kick and the Ironbound defender was shown a red card. Hubert Dul took a free kick and placed it in the corner of the goal tying the game. The match ended in a penalty shootout, in which Vistula kept their composure and Caruso made a very important save to win the game.
